Creative workshop: Stencil on T-shirt and Tote bag with Dalkhafine

As part of the Ligne de vie urbaine mural project, SDC District Central and MURALE are pleased to invite you to a cultural mediation activity to mark the arrival of a major new mural at 9494 boul. Saint-Laurent.

Artist Dalkhafine offers an accessible, fun and inspiring workshop on textile creation. You'll be invited to create a white T-shirt or fabric Tote bag using self-adhesive stencils based on original shapes drawn by the artist and inspired by the mural in production from August 9. These motifs evoke a lively, colorful universe, with a mix of floral and animal elements.

It's a great opportunity to experience art in all its simplicity, while connecting with the artist's world and the creative energy of the Central District.

Workshop sequence

After a brief presentation of the artist, his artistic career and creative process, participants will be invited to take action.

The steps are simple and intuitive:

1. Choice of stencils: participants select from a variety of shapes designed by Delphine.
   
   
2. Choice of colors: a palette of acrylic paints will be provided.
   
   
3. Paint application: using a sponge, participants dab the paint onto their fabric, using the chosen stencil.
   
   
4. Quick drying: a hair dryer sets the paint in just a few minutes.
   
   

At the end of the workshop, everyone leaves with their own colorful and unique textile creation. It's a fun way of making urban art your own, and bringing it into your everyday life through a personal object.

A guided and accompanied workshop

To ensure that the workshop runs smoothly, a cultural mediator will accompany the artist on site. His role will be to welcome participants, guide them in their creative process, and ensure that everyone has a smooth, enjoyable and inspiring time.

Conceived by MURAL, in collaboration with SDC District Central, this creative and participatory workshop is aimed at a wide audience, with no artistic prerequisites, and is fully in line with a process of cultural mediation, social bonding and promotion of the visual arts in the neighborhood.

It's a great opportunity to meet the artist, immerse yourself in his world, and discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of the mural through a hands-on, accessible and convivial activity.
