Campus Relève pilot project

SDC District Central, in partnership with mmode, sets up Campus Relève - Fashion & Apparel

Following the Café du Monde de la mode organized during Montréal Fashion Week 2022 at District Central, the issues of succession were raised by all participating companies. Following numerous exchanges, the search for interested and qualified workers is becoming increasingly difficult. The next generation is not interested and/or does not know about job opportunities in the field. It's also time for the industry to better understand the desires of the next generation. The idea of a Campus Relève was born.

Project objectives

1. Involve educational institutions: update school curricula and break down silos to paint a true picture of the business world;
2. Share the reality of the next generation: enable companies to update their way of working to match the desire of the next generation;
3. Sharing the reality in the field: enabling the next generation to broaden their horizons in terms of trades and business realities, and gain a better understanding of the scope of employment opportunities available in the industry.

This is the first initiative of its kind in the region, and is part of our drive to address issues at an early stage, so as to provide members with the tools they need to sustain their careers.
